Start Date

Working within an existing creative team, the successful candidate's duties will include:-

  • Working closely with members of the R&D team to support the development of Medical Devices for Ostomy Care.
  • The candidate will be involved in the New Product Development process
  • Helping to complete design specifications, packaging specifications,
  • Supporting product verification & validation activity,
  • Administrative support for the Change Management process,
  • Creation of detailed CAD drawings and more.

The Junior Design Technician will be at the core of many projects with stakeholders from across the business functions from the Managing Director through to the shop floor.

Training to be Provided:

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Technical Support.

City and Guilds L2 Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.

Functional Skills (Level 1) in Math, English and ICT.

Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.

Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR).

Expected Duration:

2 years

Skills Required:

Problem solving

Team player with excellent communication skills, oral and written

Ability to work on own with minimal supervision

Attention to detail and work to a high standard

Ability to follow systems and procedures

Qualifications Required:


Grade c / 4 or above GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths


Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD package

Personal Qualities:

Not afraid to challenge current processes/ procedures

Flexibility to take on additional work as required

Strong Team player

Future Prospects:

The apprenticeship will provide the skills and training to become a fully contributing member of the team into the future.

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is GBP3.70 per hour effective from 1st April 2018. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

A uniform will be provided but smart casual until that arrives
