About the programme

We'll give you hands-on responsibility from the moment you start, as well as formal leadership development and studying towards the Institute of Leadership Management Level 5 Operational Manager qualification. It's all about developing your skills, raising your strategic awareness and showing you how to build the foundations for a great career.

Over the two-year programme, you'll work in one of our Operations functions as a line manager, delivery office manager, collections manager or work area manager. Leading around 40 people in one of 1,400 operational units around the country, you'll lead and motivate your team to continuously improve performance against a range of performance measures.

In addition you'll be involved in cross-functional projects to bring to life new processes or technology in your area. Experienced managers will set you performance goals, while a buddy, mentor and People Business Partner will act as your support network.

We work right across the UK, so our Operations graduates are expected to relocate at the end of the first 12 months for a second placement of 12 months. We'll talk this through with you nearer the time and try to place you as close to your preferred location as possible. All our graduates receive generous benefits, which include an annual bonus (depending on personal and company performance), a pension plan with company contribution; a business laptop and phone, and much more.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a strong sense of self-belief, self-motivation and resilience, as well as the confidence to get involved and handle any challenge that comes your way. You'll need to be a people person and thrive as part of a team, and you'll need a genuine desire to lead and coach your team. The programme will help you develop important leadership skills.

An eye for detail is important as you'll learn how to manage resources and budgets - all with a view to ensuring your team is working at its very best.

You'll need a minimum 2:2 degree in any subject, a full UK driving licence and you must be willing to relocate at the end of year one.
