What will the apprentice be doing?
You will have an interest in Software Engineering, and a basic understanding of the aspects that it entails.
You will have a keen interest in how things work, and be motivated by creating software solutions for challenging problems.
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Problem determination & resolution
- Good IT skills in a range of SW packages would be an advantage
Logical and careful approach to analysing requirements, creating appropriate designs and developing implementation solutions, as well as an understanding of the role of test in ensuring delivery of mature products.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Apprentice will be working towards gaining the Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship Level 6. This role will support the achievement of this Apprenticeship along with the training provided by the chosen Training Provider.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Lockheed Martin UK has a number of development opportunities open to Apprentices, including the opportunity to progress with a higher level apprenticeship.

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 9-4) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 9-4) Essential
Things to consider
96 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of two completed A-levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma at PPP, a BTEC Diploma at MP, or equivalent. Will consider mature students who haven't recently undertaken a course of study at A-level equivalent, but who can demonstrate workplace experience that indicates their ability to complete the course
