Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Cleansing and preparing supplier data for use in ALPS, ALPS Visualiser and other Russell products and R&D projects
  • Assisting in the cleansing and handling of client data
  • Producing or helping to produce internal-use software to aid with cleansing, processing and analysing data
  • Data analysis in order to provide greater insight into and make new uses of data from various sources, in different formats and volumes
  • Makingappropriate use of big data handling technology such as Business Intelligence, machine learning, etc
  • Assisting with database design and maintenance for ALPS, ALPS Visualiser, and other Russell products
  • Designing and building databases to hold supplier data in more usable and/or efficient formats
  • Producingand maintaining suitable supporting documentation
  • Reviewing external documentation i.e., installation and user guides


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Have a good understanding of generating large databases from various structured and unstructured data
  • Analysing data and generating statistical information to identify trends and patterns
  • Be able to develop interactive dashboards to visualise data in real-time
  • Database design and development experience using Microsoft SQL Server
  • SQL Server database management and optimisation
  • Writing and optimising SQL queries

Degree (2:2 or above) in any subject (or equivalent).
