To promote dignity, respect and choice for service users; ensuring that the care team works within this ethos at all times.

To be accountable to the Registered Manager; ensuring that they are kept informed of any concerns or changes to the health and wellbeing of individual service users.

To develop and maintain runs of work that are geographically planned, which use resources efficiently and continuously reviewed and updated as necessary.

To produce staff rotas on a weekly/fortnightly basis, using the organisation's computer based roster system. All records and rotas to be up to date at all times and be compliant to the organisational and legal requirements of a safe and well planned service

To have a good understanding of individual service users' needs and be able to respond effectively and responsively to changing needs

To ensure all care is delivered to the highest possible standard and that service users' emotional and wellbeing of residents at all times.

Drive improvements in care delivery by up skilling the care team members, through observation and mentoring.

Team work - covering team leader shifts and calls when required with a flexible working pattern.

Scope of Job Description

This job description reflects the immediate requirements and responsibilities of the post. Requirements and prospects

Driving licence and own veihicle preferable.

Teamworking skills.

Organisational skills.

Personable and excellent communication skills.

Able to communicate effectively. To be able to understand and be able to make themselves understood to service users and Vybrant Care Services staff.

Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Able to work as part of a team, be able to follow clear instructions and report to more senior staff if they have concerns.

Ability to use own initiative and work with minimal supervision and report any concerns to management.

Able to recognise when help is needed and request for that help.

Desirable characteristics:

Awareness of safeguarding policies and processes that need to be followed.

Experience of effective report writing including incident/accident reports.

Personal qualities

Honesty and integrity.

A genuine interest in the care sector and a desire to make people's lives better.

Desired qualifications

English and Maths GCSE grade A* - C/9 - 4 or equivalent preferred.

Experience within a care setting such as a residential home, supported living service or home care services.

Knowledge of basic IT programmes and how to use them.

Level 2in Care or equivalent. Preferably level 3 Care completed.
