Programme description:

Looking for a great start to your career in Procurement and Commercial Management, earning and learning on a professionally accredited, award-winning scheme? We are looking to recruit the experts of the future on our nationally recognised, award-winning Apprenticeship Programmes.

You will be working within world class facilities regardless of which site you are based. There may also be opportunities to travel between the Company's UK sites to meet with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.

How this role fits in:

Leonardo's four-year Degree Apprenticeship specialising in Procurement and Commercial Management is looking for people who understand the importance of communication, who are able to work well as part of a team and also on their own initiative. You will have the drive and commitment to work through difficult problems to find the right solutions.

Role description:

Leonardo's four-year Business Degree Apprenticeship provides a wealth of learning and development opportunities whilst gaining a degree qualification in management and business; either BA (Hons); BSc (Hons) or BBA (Hons). You will work alongside specialists while completing a series of rotational placements - focused across our Procurement and Commercial functions across the company but also including opportunities to work within other functional areas, that will provide you with a secure platform from which to launch your Leonardo Career. You will study with one of our academic partners for completion of a Chartered Manager standard (ST0272).

You will learn how various business areas operate, discovering how projects are run, managed, and delivered, and having opportunities to liaise with customers and suppliers. Later in the apprenticeship, you will provide coaching and guidance to junior team members and/or apprentices.

You will work within the Integrated Project Teams gaining the skills and knowledge to deliver complex projects, utilising strong internal and external customer facing skills. The role will introduce you to all aspects of Procurement and Commercial Management and opportunity to gain knowledge in other business functions to support execution and delivery within the ISP line of business.

Who would suit this role?

Leonardo values people that look to always develop throughout their career and along with an eager willingness to learn, a successful apprenticeship with Leonardo involves a drive to deliver results, sometimes from your own initiative, a patience for problem solving, as well as a need to comply with safety instructions and clear process compliance at all times. We view commitment to the programme and learning objectives very highly.

Note: This Apprenticeship assumes the candidate has little professional Procurement and Commercial experience and is NOT suitable for candidates who already have a business-related degree.

Key Responsibility Areas:

During Years 1 and 2 of the degree you will study core modules addressing the commercial environment, professional development, finance, quantitative methods of business, exploring business ethics and project planning & control. In addition, learners will work closely with work-based assessors and mentors to enable them to apply their academic knowledge within their work context

Years 3 and 4 are designed to develop higher level cognitive skills and enable the continued integration of knowledge, professional competencies, and transferable skills via two more extensive work-based Integrated Projects with real value to the employer and with continued learning in leadership & organisations and the digital economy.

You will support the Procurement and Commercial function, stakeholder mapping and engagement, including relationship management and negotiation.
