As part of the Underwriting Services team your day will always filled with varied activities -from collaborating with Zurich colleagues across the world to service our largest multinational customer needs, facilitating processing and invoicing of policies and premiums and supporting our London underwriting teams in securing renewal and new business wins.

Beyond the day to day activities there are also opportunities to get involved in supporting future ways of working, including process improvement, automation and artificial intelligence technology.

Underwriting is the process by which Zurich takes on the risk of a customer, either individual or a company, incurring a financial loss, such as the impact of fire or storm, in return for a premium -to provide solutions to protect our customers.

As an Underwriting Services Apprentice, you will:
  • Handle activities within the renewal, quote and new business process for assigned accounts to help underwriters decision making, and ensure policies are issued and recorded on point and on time
  • You will provide support in underwriting services, procedures, policy endorsements and policy issuance
  • You'll need to interact on a daily basis with underwriters, brokers and customers for your assigned accounts which may include attending external meetings to ensure that all policy details and deadlines are fulfilled
  • Our apprenticeships cater for a variety of different skillsets and interests and you'll receive all the training, support and opportunities you need to set you on your way to a successful career with us

The key skills you will require for this role include:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team
  • Effective personal planning and organisation
  • Appetite to learn and achieve professional qualifications
  • To be prepared to study towards the 'Insurance Professional' level 4qualification.
  • A professional attitude with a positive 'can do' approach to your work

It's a big challenge, but you'll have a truly diverse network helping you. As an aspiring individual, you'll be encouraged and guided to develop the skills you need. And as part of a diverse international team, you'll have all the opportunities you need to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.

How do you feel about the things you truly love? Don't you want to protect them in the best way possible? Imagine if you could help people do this all over the world. You'd give them confidence and reassurance by protecting what they love most.

At Zurich, we aim to have a diverse mix of employees that reflects our customers and the communities in which we live and work. Our diversity and inclusion initiatives are shaping an environment where everyone feels welcome, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, ability, culture, sexual orientation or mental health status. Our approach ensures that Zurich is a place that values different opinions, respects personal needs, and provides equal opportunities for all.

So make a difference. Be challenged. Be inspired. Be supported. Love what you do. Work for us.
