Duties and responsibilities will include:

To be an excellent role model for the children by demonstrating appropriate language and behaviour
During induction training, to become familiar with all Fledglings policies and procedures and ensure that you adhere to them at all times
To form strong and effective relationships with both children and parents during gradual admissions and room moves
At the appropriate time - take responsibility for a key group of children ensuring that all children feel secure and receive consistent, high quality care
To learn to reflect on practice, activities and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child based on their stage of development
To ensure that observations and planning for your Key Children are kept up to date and are of a high standard
To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse by reporting concerns immediately, in accordance with child protection and whistleblowing policies
To work in partnership with all parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that engender trust, open communication and involvement in nursery life
To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents, encouraging a positive, diverse working environment
To work flexibly as part of the 'larger team' assisting and supporting colleagues when required
To behave responsibly at all times both within and outside the workplace, to ensure that Fledglings reputation is maintained
To attend reasonable out-of-working hours activities, including training, staff meetings, parents evenings and special events
To take joint responsibility for the standard of cleanliness in the room and the nursery as a whole, reporting concerns if necessary
