The salary for this apprenticeship is HAY 9 set at £23,080 per annum.
As part of this training route, you do need to undertake a basic skills assessment as part of the selection process. These will be emailed to you by the training provider, JGA and be completed by the deadline set.
As part of your apprenticeship, you will complete a Level 4 Policy Officer apprenticeship standard.
Throughout your working day you will experience various online meetings as necessary to discuss the projects that you are working on with people in the team. We all keep in touch via chats and calls in Microsoft Teams - there is always someone on-hand.
The apprenticeship training requires you to attend all online learning.
To successfully complete the apprenticeship, you will be required you to complete an end point assessment that consists of a Multiple-choice test, Written Policy Exercise, Presentation with Q&A and Professional discussion.

- You'll be working closely and alongside experienced staff to undertake a range of policy and public affairs activities, with a particular focus on the Partnership's rapidly emerging Net Zero workstream
- You'll learn how to undertake research and analysis to inform programme and project development by commissioning independent research and horizon scanning activities
- You will assist the Policy Officer with preparing briefing notes, presentations, speaking notes for Western Gateway Board Members, Business leaders and stakeholders
- You'll gain experience and exposure by attending external events and feedback key messages and content to the Policy Officer
- You will support projects with a range of internal and external stakeholders to help contribute and support the development and delivery of the Western Gateway's priorities
- The most challenging aspect of your apprenticeship will be working in a varied role and one where you will need to use initiative
- Throughout your 19-month apprenticeship, we will allocate you a workplace mentor to give you guidance and support in completing your Level 4 Policy Officer apprenticeship standard
