Main responsibilities:
  • The apprentice will be part of a small accounts team, working closely with the Managing Director and Operations Manager.
  • The data analyst/accounts assistant administrator will familiarise themselves with the helpdesk system (ConnectWise Manage) and undertake the in-house training provided, coupled with our accounting package Sage 50.
  • We are looking to develop a suite of reports, both customer facing and internal so that we effectively identify the margins against customers contracts and to also strengthen our bargaining purchasing power.

Other areas include:

Sales Ledger:
  • Posting invoices and credit notes
  • Posting cash received
  • Dealing with customer account queries

Purchase Ledger:
  • Posting invoices and credit notes
  • Posting payments made to vendors
  • Reconciling accounts

Office Admin:
  • General day-to-day office administration


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office365 applications, in particular Excel, although training can be provided.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions.


Personal qualities

  • Working well alone as well as in a team.
  • Never being afraid to ask for help.
  • Personable with a willingness to learn and a can-do attitude is essential.
  • Professional approach.
  • Having a flexible approach to work (be able to undertake other duties).


Desired qualifications

Entry Level Requirements:

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:
  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Experience (if the learner can't meet the qualification requirements):
  • Those working in a role (for at least 6 months) where data is used on a regular basis and able to demonstrate working towards Level 2 in Maths and English.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary:

Amazing incentive for all apprentices: starting salary is £13,000 with an additional £1,000 given every 2-3 months (upon completion of each module).

By month 10 of your apprenticeship, you will be on a salary of £17,000 per annum.
