Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was formed in October 2019, following the merger of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust. The two Trusts joined together to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services to communities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, team player with a natural empathy for people who experience mental health problems to join our friendly, professional and busy Mental Health Liaison Team based in Gloucester Royal.

The Mental Health Liaison Team consists of 4 sub teams, Working Age Adult 16 & 17, 18 - 65, Older People 65+, Alcohol Liaison 18+ and Children and Young People 11 - 15yrs; along with clinicians working across the Gloucestershire High Intensity Network (GHIN) and Frequent Attender (FA) managers for self-harm and alcohol misuse and, Community Hospitals MH Liaison; Liaison Psychiatry Consultants, a Lead and Deputy Lead Nurse.

We provide a 24hr service, 7 days a week.

Main duties of the job:

You will be required to provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service to support the clinical teams and have a flexible approach to work and the ability to effectively manage your time ensuring you complete work within agreed guidelines.

You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and undertake all relevant duties to ensure the smooth running of the service this includes processing referrals, organising and preparation for meetings, gathering and preparing clinical records as required, office equipment and resource management and supporting the clinical team on a day to day basis as well as demonstrate sound organisational skills and be able to prioritise your workload.

Your role will include, liaising with staff, visitors and health care professionals primarily over the phone, you will be heavily involved in sensitive/delicate subject matter surrounding patients and will be required to communicate with/to clinicians' details of these, so the ability to take accurate messages and convey these in a timely manner is key as well as a strong passion for mental health is required.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, good communication skills with an emphasis on customer service, be IT literate and work across a multitude of clinical systems, Integra, RIO, e-Roster, Trakcare, Sunrise EPR, although training is given. You will be responsible for handling highly confidential information.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
