Global Rail Construction Ltd is part of the Global Infrastructure Group and is a leading UK provider of design and build services to clients in the rail and transportation sector.
We are currently seeking a full time Procurement & Logistics Assistant to be based at our Hatfield office. With good MS Office skills, you must demonstrate the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment, with a thorough attention to detail.
You must be pragmatic, flexible, and open to change. The role will cover a variety of rail projects with a view to supporting cost effective and timely support and solutions, through collaborative working with both our tender and project teams and through maintaining excellent working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and relevant third parties.
The role will require you to make site visits at certain times, so you must be medically fit. The role will provide the opportunity for initial learning, ongoing training, mentoring and future role enhancement.

- Plant Maintenance servicing intervals recorded onto Procurement Database
- Electrical Equipment (PAT's Testing) recorded onto Procurement Database
- Test Equipment (Calibration UKAS Approved Suppliers) recorded onto Procurement Database
- Maintaining Asset Register Database
- PPE Issuing Process
- PPE Journal Update
- Updating Plant Register
- Following up with suppliers and updating projects regarding delays or issues
- Plant and materials consolidation from our laydown area
- Maintaining a database of materials held
- Filing and archiving
Vehicles:
- Vehicle Hire process
- Driver Approval Process
- FORS Familiarisation
- Fuel Card reconciliation
- Vehicle maintenance costs for all projects
- Insurance Administration
- Lightfoot Administration
- Administration of vehicle checking process
- Administration of Operators Licence
- Lorry maintenance, checking and compliance monitoring
- Project allocation monitoring
Materials Procurement:
- Procurement Database (Requisitions, Orders & Delivery recording)
- Tracking costs against tender allowances
- Maintaining enquiry tracker and obtaining quotations for tenders and projects
- Supporting hand back process (O&M Files)
- Negotiating rate rebates with established suppliers
- Materials stock control
- Monitoring of the Supplier Register Proposed Training and Mentorship Process

- On completion of the apprenticeship there maybe the opportunity to continue your learning through a Higher (Degree) Apprenticeship
