As a Sales Exec Apprentice you will provide a warm and welcoming reception service to all our guests, ensuring they have an outstanding experience from their first phone call, email or visit to the hotel. You will join a team that is passionate about delivering exceptional service where we believe that anything is possible, whilst having fun in all that we do!

As a Sales Exec Apprentice you will work with the Front of House team with an instinctive ability to anticipate guests' and tailoring our products and services to maximise all sales opportunities and create memorable moments for all our guests. You will be answering guest queries, dealing with accommodation and food and beverage reservations as well as supporting large private events and weddings.

The role includes managing the sales and bookings of meetings, events, dealing with enquiries as well as following up with potential clients and promoting offers.

As a Sales Exec Apprentice

Key duties: you will work with your Manager to:-
  • Manage the sales and bookings of meetings and events, dealing with enquiries, following up with potential clients, meeting clients and promoting offers
  • Ensure effective systems for bookings and invoicing are in place, reviewing and updating processes as required
  • Support the delivery of events with the front of house team
  • Manage the booking system and record data
  • Support the preparation of proposals to meet and exceed the client's expectations.
  • Ensure that meetings and events are delivered by ensuring detailed schedules are prepared and staff are briefed of client's needs
  • Nurture and build relations with current and potential clients, meeting room and wedding clients and any corporate clients
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities
  • Proactively look for new accounts for the hotel by sales calls daily
  • Provide quick and timely responses, immediate communication to develop professional long term business relations
  • Work with the team to develop and implement plans effective for enhancing sales and overall company performance
  • Ensure provision of proper aftercare sales support and service to clients
  • Organise/be actively involved in sales meetings to discuss activities and future plans
  • Conduct show rounds, fam trips as necessary
  • Have full product knowledge of the facilities offered at the hotel
  • Promote teamwork within the department and with other departments
  • Carry out other duties/tasks outside normal routines but within the overall scope of the job
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment

  • Experience of working with IT systems on various platforms
  • Experience in food & beverage service beneficial but not essential

Desired qualifications

Maths and English grades A*- C/4 or above (or the equivalent).

As part of the selection process, you will be invited to a 3-day skills bootcamp held at Gateshead College and/or Matfen Hall where you will complete training on CV writing, employability and interviews skills. Following successful completion of the bootcamp you will be guaranteed an interview. (Please note this won't be paid).
