About the apprenticeship

Duties

The role of a Social Media Marketing Apprentice involves supporting the Director in their key tasks of providing engaging, and timely marketing directed at suppliers and customers in order to support and develop the brand and business. Honest, direct, informative, and persuasive communications are at the heart of the FLS business and in order to provide these effectively the Marketing team requires additional support with its ongoing social media and digital marketing.
• Supporting the Director on all social and communications related tasks
• Developing digital and social media campaigns
• Creating supporting images for social media
• Creating content for web and social
• Deployment of social media advertising and promotion
• Administration of data in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
• Dealing with comms - social media, email or telephone
• Support of sales and partner onboarding
• Administration of website
• Ongoing monitoring of competitor activity
• Campaign development for email / digital marketing
• Analysis and reporting of social media and marketing activities
• Co-ordination and visualization of marketing data and KPIs for meetings

Additional information

• The role will encompass an NVQ Level 3 in Social Media (potentially leading to NVQ level 4 Digital Marketing)
• This will require all tasks to be completed in the allocated timeframe and to a high standard, meeting Company deadlines and expectations
• An awareness of the activities of all supporting departments and activities will be included - finance, data & technology, sales and client solutions as well as operations.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
