What will you be getting up to?

You will join our dynamic systems engineering and assurance team, who are focused on the design and management of complex engineering systems over their life cycles. The team use work- processes, optimization methods and risk management tools in various railways projects. Our Systems Engineering and Assurance team include technical and human- centred disciplines, and ensures we consider all likely aspects of a project or system and therefore integrated into a whole. With over 100 years' experience in developing rail systems, you will be joining the world's leading transport consultancy. Some of the key services provided by the team include
  • Requirements management
  • System architecture development
  • Systems integration
  • Design assurance
  • Verification and validation
  • Reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM)
  • Engineering safety management.

We are looking for graduates to join our Croydon office.

Candidate Specification

We are looking for flexible and motivated graduates with a genuine passion for railways, and a desire to make a difference in the world. If this describes you, apply today to launch your career at Mott MacDonald.

To apply for this scheme, you will have less than 12 months experience and have achieved a 2.1 degree in engineering, as well as a postgraduate qualification in systems engineering, or related discipline.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
  • Some formal training or supervised work in applying RAMS engineering methods, tools and techniques.
  • Proven experience of undertaking failure modes, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) and availability assessments.
  • Proven experience of involvement in hazard identification / risk assessment workshops.
  • Ability to use Isograph FaultTree+ and Availability Workbench (or AvSim+) tools
  • Recent experience of RAMS engineering within the railway industry would be advantageous but not essential
