We are currently looking for 3 Apprentice Operational Support to work with experience staff and assist them in their duties while gaining the knowledge and experience of the Surface Treatments Colas provide.

In return for your commitment, we offer a 3-year road map and the opportunity to build skills through on-the-job training and personalised mentoring to ensure you achieve a National recognised Qualification.

At the end of your successful training and qualification completion we are hopeful that we will offer a permanent position.

Main ResponsibilitiesThis is a very varied position that covers many different aspects of road surfacing treatments, you will travel (van provided) to different sites supporting Contract Managers and Foremen to deliver contracts to the very highest of standards.

You will learn to undertake observations, data acquisition, inspections, surveys and make assessments in connection with the condition of the Highway and learn to prepare high quality recommendations to submit to the commercial department for pricing.

This role will also involve carrying out accurate pre and post measures, surveys/inspections/designs and recording the outcomes maintaining good records. You will monitor works and learn to identify and eliminate causes of failure leading to a better overall process.

The Ideal CandidateTo succeed in this role you will need to be a highly motivated and adaptable individual that will embrace the opportunity to learn about all aspects of road surfacing treatments , in a practical setting.

Because of the nature of the role you will need very good time management skills and an ability to prioritise your own workload to achieve the best results for the team and our customers.

A passion for safety and environmental issues will help you go far in this role as will an analytical mind that wants to help solve problems

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

?? GCSE Maths & English at grades A-C

?? Experience of Microsoft Applications (Outlook/Word/Excel)

?? Driving License

Travel and staying away will be an essential requirement
