Graduate Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs - South Birmingham - Starts ASAP

Are you an enthusiastic graduate - looking to gain experience in a school setting and a passion to support pupils with additional needs?

Empowering Learning are currently working with a special school in Birmingham who are looking to appoint a Graduate Learning Mentor/Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. The role will involve supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 who have learning and behavioural difficulties. You will be responsible for promoting inclusion; working according to IEP's and advancing learning allowing the children you will be working with to make positive progress by successfully removing barriers to learning.

The successful candidate should:

* Have a proven track record of working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs
• Able to use positive reinforcement when supporting behaviour difficulties - working with pupils with ADHD and autism this would be an advantage
• Be highly flexible and adaptable in order to meet the differing needs of the pupils
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have an extremely patient attitude ensuring a positive role model for children
• Be willing to work across key Stages 1 & 2
