Coach Core's vision is to drive social mobility through apprenticeships and sport, so that every young person can reach their true potential and inspire those around them. Since our launch in 2012, we have worked with over 150 of the biggest sports providers, youth clubs and charities in the country, supporting over 500 young people. As a result of our ongoing expansion, we are now looking to launch a brand-new programme in Bristol!

Our story began 12 years ago when our founders, Martin, and Jamie, spotted two young men dealing drugs in a park near to the Empire Boxing Gym in inner city Bristol. They decided to tackle their behaviour and invited them in for a private training session and discussed the issues they faced. Both enjoyed the session and turned up the following week with a few friends. Within six weeks 50 young people were attending sessions five nights a week.
The Empire Amateur Boxing club has existed in inner-city Bristol for over 50 years, working with thousands of young people and producing national champions and international representatives. Through former Empire boxer and now Empire Fighting Chance Ambassador, Chris Sanigar, we have produced British, Commonwealth, European and World Champions.
At Empire Fighting Chance we integrate non-contact boxing into traditional employability support. By improving physical and mental health through the sport, young people become more open to new opportunities, develop a more positive attitude to work, and are better equipped to make those crucial next-step decisions to thrive in life.
We aim to make every young person who walks through our door leave feeling more optimistic and positive about their future. As well as personalised 1:2:1 sessions, small group, and school sessions, we also have exciting opportunities for our young people to learn fundamental skills we believe will help put them in the best stead for their futures
As part of the Coach Core offer, we provide a dedicated tutor, to support you through the qualification and help you put your learning into practice at work. This tutor will deliver a weekly group education session for all apprentices, allowing you to learn and share ideas from a range of different coaching environments. Furthermore, Bristol Sport Foundation will also provide you
