Job Description:

We are looking for a numerically inclined and highly motivated apprentice who is interested in helping support the management of our With-Profits products (products that let policyholders share in the profits and losses of investments).
The successful applicant will primarily support the day to day running of our PruFund models and the production of key management information. You will also help with process investigations and improvements. PruFund is M&G’s flagship product and the daily running of our models (a mixture of processing IT supported systems and performing calculations via Excel) is a key component to ensure the product operates smoothly and we treat customers fairly.

The apprentice will also have an opportunity to learn more about other traditional With-Profits products.

The M&G plc Finance function supports and enables the business to grow successfully. To support this, Finance has four key priorities:

3. Commercial - deliver the Business Plan and support business initiatives
4. Controls - operate as an effective function with a robust control environment

This Junior Finance Analyst role will sit within the Management Reporting, With-Profits Support team and will contribute to the achievement of one or more of these outcomes in order to deliver the vision for Finance.

Your daily duties may include:

- Running of PruFund models and checking the outputs such as PruFund price reports and fund value reports, through the use of various systems, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint
- Helping the team manage priorities effectively through escalation and discussion of deliverable timelines, seeking agreement on priorities with key stakeholders
- Helping the team in the production of management information such as latest view on PruFund prices and answering queries on outputs such as explaining market movements, particularly related to PruFund
- Running models, mostly via Excel, to support the setting of bonus rates for our traditional With-Profits products in the annual bonus setting exercise
- Providing ad hoc support to wider team as and when required
- You will also get exposure to a number of different projects and initiatives within the team, providing actuarial support where applicable
- A chance to participate and contribute in regular team meetings. The regular team meetings offer the team a chance to chair the meetings, present new ideas, challenge the status quo and discuss priorities for the week ahead

Training Provided:

As a Junior Finance Analyst Apprentice with BPP, you will undertake the AAT3 Modern Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses.

Qualification Requirements:

As a minimum, candidate will have 5 National 5s with Maths and English grades (A-C) or 2 Highers with good grades in Maths and English at National 5.
