Job summary

To work with the pre-registration education team to provide great placements for students and pre-registration apprentices to learn. We want each student to enjoy their learning, to be acquiring professional competence and values to deliver excellent patient care. We aim for each pre-registration student to be proud to train and start their professional careers at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The learning environment facilitator works with the learning environment lead to monitor the standards and quality of the clinical learning environment. The role is dependent on effective operational relationships with practice learning managers, teams and programme providers (universities). The role requires the ability to lead on education audits and student evaluations / practice learners' experience and to manage and support results to quality assure safe and effective learning environments.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust who cares for patients and service users in hospital, step-down healthcare environments and at home.

The pre-registration team are primarily based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, however cross-site working enables flexibility with work-bases. The post holder will be required to travel across the county and there will be opportunities to work at home subject to necessary risk assessments. As a general guideline, working hours are weekdays 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm.

The appointee will be enthusiastic about education and has demonstrable portfolio of experience in supporting pre-registration learners. The appointee will be highly motivated, creative and innovative - striving for excellence and will be passionate about supporting and facilitating the progression of others. You will be well supported and have access to professional development, regular 1:1 support and monthly meetings.

  • IT literate with a working knowledge of word processing, databases and spreadsheet packages including Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Clinical credibility with experience of working within the healthcare arena across acute and community settings - Minimum 2 years post qualification experience
  • Experience of supporting organisational change programmes
  • Quality-focussed with high standards for education, learning and development
  • Evidence of ability to work within a team to achieve a shared goal.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering learning and development programmes
  • Evidence of engagement with quality improvement in the clinical context


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with a NMC approved mentorship/supervision qualification
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of Professional Development

  • Teaching & assessing qualification or equivalent teaching experience
