Teaching Assistant Apprentice - GBP4.81 an hour, Carlisle
Are you looking to train to become a Teaching Assistant in a Primary setting? This could be a fantastic opportunity for you! WE are searching for a Level 3 apprentice to work supporting pupils in Year 2 in a busy popular school in Carlisle. We are looking for someone who is able to start in September 2022 and this would suit someone finishing school or college this summer. The school are offering 32 hours a week with additional hours for assisting with breakfast club.

We are recruiting for a Catholic Primary School in the West of Carlisle who are looking for an Apprentice TA to join their well established team. The employer is culturally diverse with a range of pupils who have additional needs so this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to establish a career as a TA who is looking for a diverse and varied first position in the sector. The school has successfully trained previous apprentices who have enjoyed success and are now forging careers in the industry. The school offers a real team environment where all staff are involved in meetings and training.
Vacancy Details
Duties to include setting up and clearing classroom activities, supervising planned work, leading small group interventions, supporting whole class teaching and promoting positive behaviour throughout school, play . The role also includes play ground duties, breakfast club (paid as an extra) The standard hours are 8.30 - 3.45. You will assist qualified TA's to stimulate children's play and learning and support at meal/snack time. We are looking for confident and friendly apprentice with good time keeping and a willingness to learn and commit fully to the job role. Able to use own initiative to keep children safe, happy and cared for in our supportive environment.
The apprenticeship is expected to last a min of 18 Months in duration and will ideally begin after the May half term 2022. You will learn with System People a friendly and local training provider here in Carlisle. We offer a range of learning support methods which include virtual Zoom lesson delivery, face to face workshops, online interactive learning platform and 1-2-1 tutor support.
Qualifications Required
As you will be studying for an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship which is equivalent to A Level, you will be expected to hold a grade 4/C or above in Maths and English by the end of the Apprenticeship. Therefore to apply you must hold a Grade C/4 in either Maths or English and at least a D in the other. We can provide Functional Skills help during your apprenticeship to help you gain a grade 3 in both by the end (subject to initial assessment).
