QA's apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
- Maintaining the company database, websites and publications with thorough and accurate product data
- Creating reports, spreadsheets, leaflets, various 'hacks' and more to support purchasing and sales teams
- Researching products, look up and evaluate prices, and source images
- Performing complex database enquiries (primarily using SQL)
- Creating triggers in the system to alert different departments to ongoing situations
- Providing administrative support for purchasing, sales, transport and stock control
- Providing ICT support and system troubleshooting
- Proof-reading and application testing
- Helping organise and perform periodic stock takes
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Admin or ICT experience (pref. private sector)
- In depth knowledge of SQL
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Crystal reports
- Attention to detail
- Excellent numeracy
- High literacy
The following experience would be beneficial:
- Excellent memory, organisation, and communication
- Some coding experience (pref. SQL, VBA)
Personal qualities
- Ability to learn independently
- Team player
Desired qualifications
Entry requirements:
Standard entry:
- Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
- OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)
Plus:
- 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
- Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)
