Job summary

We are a friendly general practice team operating from 2 sites in Halifax, West Yorkshire. We have 10,500 patients and we are part of the Halifax Central PCN, working collaboratively with Springhall, King Cross and Boulevard Surgeries. The successful candidate will be patient focused, reliable, a good team player and flexible in their approach. Experience of working in a NHS GP surgery as a Receptionist is highly desirable.

You will be responsible for helping to maintain a friendly but effective first-line of patient contact, deal with patient tasks appropriately, follow our systems and protocols and keep the practice presentable and safe.

You will be working with our front-line clinical teams at one of the busiest times we have experienced within GP practice, to support the delivery of the highest quality primary care service to our patients.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a responsive, courteous, calm and efficient service at all times, to enable and support patient care.

Good communication skills are required and attention to detail is crucial. The right person will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and be required to have a flexible approach in order to be able to work overtime as required to cover colleague absence and annual leave as well as any training support as required.

The role will appeal to someone looking for an interesting yet demanding job. If you can multitask, work part of a team and also use your own initiative, then this is the right job for you.

You will carry out administration and receptionist duties as necessary to support the effective operation of the practice and training will be given. The post holder should have a competent working knowledge of IT systems and experience with SystmOne is an advantage.

This post is for a minimum of 27.5 - 30hrs per week on rota with occasional weekends, when we annually hold our Flu clinics. You will be expected to travel independantly between both our practices sites and expected to work shifts on a rota basis. The post is also subject to an enhanced DBS check and the successful candidate will have access to an NHS Pension.

About us

All our team are enthusiastic, friendly and we want to make a real difference to our patients. If that sounds like the type of busy environment you would like to work within, then we welcome your application.

Apply by sending your CV with a covering letter detailing why you are suitable for our role and how your skills cross match our job requirements?
