What will the apprentice be doing?
The apprenticeship scheme is designed to last a minimum of 42 months, and therefore requires apprentices to have the commitment and work ethic to become successful in their field.
Key responsibilities include;
Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and process while under the instruction of skill technical staff.
To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working alone or within a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department
To undertake and successfully complete suitable college courses throughout the training period, achieving the academic grades and practical skills to entitle yearly progression leading to the award of a suitable level 4 (HNC) qualification in mechanical engineering.
Learning and understanding the importance of Health and Safety within the workspace and the company, and actively demonstrating personal responsibility.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Attendance will be one day per week at college. You will receive the Engineering Manufacturing standard apprenticeship qualification, upon successful completion.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once successfully completed the apprenticeship, there is the potential to progress into full time employment, or into a higher-level apprenticeship - or potentially, both.
