The Opportunity:

We're looking for a motivated, enthusiastic team-player looking to take this exciting first step in their tech sales career; joining a talented and ambitious business development team in a role with well-defined scope for progression.

The Role:

The aim of this role is to generate high-quality employer interest in our rapidly growing Digital Skills Bootcamp training provision. This means engaging with employers across the East Midlands to properly understand the immediate digital skills gaps within their organisations, and where we're hopefully best placed to support.This will naturally lead to conversations around employers' more long-term digital training needs also, giving you the opportunity to promote and sell in our range of IT & digital apprenticeships across cyber security, digital marketing and IT solutions.

With the support of your line manager, wider althaus team and skills coach, you will develop a skillset to confidently manage the full sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to pipeline development, opportunity conversion and ongoing relationship management. As well as the importance of achieving your monthly sales targets, there is an equal focus on quality, so you will be engaged in our quality, sales admin. and reporting processes, giving you great exposure to the innerworkings and impact of a high-performing business development team within a fast-growing business.

The Person:

Passionate about business development and a strong interest in the tech/edutech sectors, you will be the type of person seeking out an exciting opportunity to give your all and be recognised for your success each and every day. As an engaging and self-motivated individual, you will naturally be adept at creating and maintain long-term client relationships, while also maintaining sufficiently high outbound sales activity to maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
  • Prospecting for new Digital Skills Bootcamp and IT/digital apprenticeships business across a variety of sectors
  • Sales and quality administration
  • Developing client relationships and increasing wallet-share
  • Conducting high quality and productive digital training needs analysis across client base
  • Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of all althaus training programmes
  • Delivering exceptional levels of customer service to our clients
  • Achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Submission of accurate and timely sales reports/forecasts
  • Maintenance of clear and accurate customer engagement records on CRM
  • Taking a 'digital first' approach wherever possible (in a paperless business!)

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer/IT literate
  • Customer service skills
  • Up to date knowledge of IT & digital sectors desirable
  • Understanding of apprenticeships and Digital Skills Bootcamps desirable

  • Persistence, ambition, determination and desire to succeed
  • Proven business development ability and comfortability working in a target-driven environment
  • Confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels: from senior management through to young people, apprentices and bootcampers
  • High standards of personal integrity, professional conduct and customer service


Desired qualifications

  • Maths & English GCSE grade C/4, equivalent or above
  • 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) or equivalent, including English and maths


Future prospects

Following successful completion of the 18-month sales apprenticeship, you will be considered for progression onto a permanent, on-going employment opportunity with althaus.
