Alongside your studies, you'll be working as part of the Materials Quality Control Team, conducting precise and accurate routine analytical testing on Incoming Raw Materials, In-Process Control samples and Final Product material, involving both the use of traditional chemistry techniques and the use of a wide variety of analytical instrumentation (for example XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, IC, Particle Size, Surface Area and Porosity instruments). As a Chemical Science Degree Apprentice (Materials Quality Control), you will join the team based within our Swinton (Greater Manchester) office, and benefit from:
- Maintaining a high standard of laboratory operating conditions regarding equipment, validity of calibration standards, housekeeping, analytical records, etc. by adhering to established standards
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environment policies

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to read and understand laboratory related materials, with laboratory-based skills such as precise weighing and pipetting
- Strong mathematical skills and familiarity with algebra to perform relevant analytical calculations
- Strong attention to detail
Personal qualities
- Professional interpersonal skills, and a team player with a committed, flexible and positive approach to work
Desired qualifications
- A minimum of 104 UCAS points at A-level or equivalent (grades BCC or similar), with A levels including Chemistry and Mathematics
- GCSE Mathematics and English Language (grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent

- A starting salary of £14,500, (equivalent to £7.53 per hour) to increase over time once you have completed your degree, plus bonus
