Job summary

Role Registered Nurse (RMN, RNLD)

Role Location Birmingham, West Midlands

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Oversee co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care programs with a focus on risk assessment / management strategies, ensuring that the requirements of the Care Program Approach are met in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Mental Health Transport Assistants to safely transport and care for patients
  • Monitor ill health indicators of patients during transportation
  • Report patient observations to NHS Partners
  • Support empowerment of patients, having regard for their dignity whilst maintaining professional responsibility for individuals in our care
  • Review and ensure correct section papers are in place for patients in our care

Starting Salary £25 per hour worked between 6.30am-7.30pm Monday to Friday £30 per hour worked between 7pm-7am Monday to Friday & weekends

Contract Flexible: No minimum hours, flexible bank availability options to suit. Minimum of 4 shifts' availability each month is preferred. OR GH20 (approx. 20 hrs per week, Monday-Friday)

Main duties of the job

Experience & Skills:
  • Both newly Qualified or Experienced RMN/RNLD
  • Experience working with a Mental Health client group
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983
  • Have the capacity to maintain documentation and undertake audits
  • Compassionate and focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage and reduce risk whilst empowering and supportive of service user independence
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983

Key Requirements:
  • Valid NMC registration
  • Maintain Enhanced DBS
  • Act within the Professional Bodies Code of Practice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum of 4 shifts availability per month (preferred)
