To provide cleaning and catering services as part of a team, to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust.To interact compassionately with patients and carers at all times. Patients have a range of mental health conditions or learning disabilities.

Main duties of the job
We require friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individuals to work as a Relief Housekeeper within the Trusts Hotel Services Team.
Relief Housekeepers are responsible to provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust. Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.
You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.
The post holder will be based at Foss Park hospital Haxby Road York and will be required to work shifts between the hours of 7.00 am- 18:30pm. Monday to Sunday on a Rota basis.
You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.

Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion to providing high standards of customer service.

Clinical Responsibilities, Patient ContactPrepares, cooks and serves light meals and beverages to patients, encouraging healthy eating.Regenerates food for patients.Provides information, in accordance with standard coding, on appropriate food choices / menus to meet specific cultural or dietary needs.Sets and clears away patient dining areas.Cleans patients bedrooms and communal areas on the wards.Washes (using washing machine and tumble dryer) and irons patients clothing when required.Undertakes deep-cleaning of patient bedrooms as required.Administrative ResponsibilitiesUndertakes administrative tasks in relation to own work e.g. filing, photocopying, distributing and gathering in Customer Comments cards.
