Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated Dietitian to be our lead dietitian for Cardiff Community Resource Teams (CCRT), in Cardiff and Vale UHB. This post provides the opportunity for a dietitian to combine both clinical and leadership skills, supporting the development of the dietetic element of the multidisciplinaryteams in Cardiff. This post sits within the community dietetic team but will work within CCRTs to support people on discharge from hospital and to prevent hospital admission. You will be responsible for supporting a team of staff to deliver of both 1:1 and joint multidisciplinary interventions, as well as providing wider food and nutrition training to healthcare professionals and Care Home staff.

You will work within a friendly and highly skilled department and have numerous opportunities for professional and personal development. You will be actively involved in the research, audit and the Quality and Safety agenda of the department and UHB.

Main duties of the job

The Band 7 dietetic team leader, supports the Lead Rehabilitation Dietitian in delivery of the services across Community Resource Teams in Cardiff.

To develop, manage and co-ordinate a dietetic service for the dietetic staff in Cardiff Community Resource Teams (CCRTs). This will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in partnership with other professions and agencies in a variety of settings including community venues, with social services and third sector care providers as well as directly with clients at an individual and group level. Work will be both face to face and virtual.

The post holder is the lead clinician for:
  • Management of overall dietetic service to this service area including all stages of development, implementation and evaluation. Working in partnership with key stakeholders to enable delivery of the service objectives within the available resource
  • Delivery of clinical dietetic service to this population
  • Supervision and training of junior staff and Project Support Workers and other workers involved in the specialist area. This could include community support workers, junior dietitians and students.
  • To develop and co-ordinate the dietetic service for this area, undertaking research and audit to enable you to fully evaluate the continual effectiveness of the service

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
