What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Our Test Manufacturing Engineering team in our facility are responsible for the smooth running of our test cells, ensuring that engines are being tested with equipment that is both serviceable and modern. Working with a variety of departments, our Manufacturing Engineers in Test collaborate closely with our production team, our quality team and work in conjunction with our on-site maintenance teams.
  • As with all of our manufacturing engineers, the test team are responsible for project implementation, including dealing with external suppliers and contractors as well as liaising with the heads of departments internally. The team have an ongoing aim to meet our sustainability targets, looking at how to reduce our carbon footprint using the most modern and up to date technologies, ensuring best possible results internally and for our customers around the world.
  • Our Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team are responsible for the smooth running of our production processes, making sure that our engines are assembled efficiently and to the highest possible standard. Using the most up to date equipment, the assembly Manufacturing Engineering team are responsible for the continuous improvement of our processes, equipment and tooling.
  • Much the same as the test team, the assembly team are responsible for project implementation, including dealing with external suppliers and contractors as well as liaising with the heads of departments internally. The team have an ongoing aim to meet our sustainability targets, looking at how to reduce our carbon footprint using the most modern and up to date technologies as well as maintaining high levels of quality adherence.
  • During the programme you will be rotating around different teams within the area but also in other functions such as Sales and Engineering to build a network and knowledge base to develop and be successful.
  • During the 3-year apprenticeship you will also be studying to achieve your Level 6 Degree qualification to support your practical learning. This will be in the form of a day release or online learning programme developed in conjunction with a nationally recognised institution.

Manufacturing Engineer (Degree) - Apprenticeship Standard Level 6 - The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace and on-site.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship scheme, you will continue in your chosen role where you may be offered a position within our world-class team with plenty of opportunity for long-term progression within one of the departments listed previously. Many of our former apprentices now occupy senior management roles within our organisation, as career development is the foundation to all our apprenticeship schemes. There is the opportunity for employees who excel to undertake additional qualification (masters level / management based)
