What will the apprentice be doing?
Review designs and advise on potential changes in line with scope and technical restrictions.
Build websites in the required platforms from the approved designs and brief.
Responsible for ensuring that your code is complete and tested before handing over to Back End Development or QA testers.
Follow all development procedures used by Ascensor.
Responsible for ensuring that sites are developed with performance in mind.
Responsible for ensuring that best practices are followed on all development tasks.
Responsible for ensuring that you follow deployment processes.
Responsible for ensuring that go live testing is completed for each project / task
Work on service tickets for existing sites.
Perform performance reports with recommendations for technical changes.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 4 Software Development training is provided through The Coders Guild Ltd, an industry rated, award-winning training provider. The training and curriculum is overseen by, and delivered by our team of industry experts.
For the foreseeable future, training will be predominantly online learning. We also advocate challenge-based learning - setting problems to be solved through code.
Wherever possible training is learner-led, we seek to make learning an enjoyable and involving experience. We are keen to help and support young people to get a kick start in their web development career.
This apprenticeship is designed to train someone to become a junior Web Developer in 18 months.
Developing core skills is also extremely important, group training will often focus on teamwork and improving abilities around problem solving, prioritisation, estimation - skills we have identified that make a good web developer.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The vast majority of our candidates retain their position with their employer upon completion of training. As the top growth and ever changing industry, you will have gained the knowledge and experience to progress with your career.
