About the apprenticeship


We are looking to recruit an ambitious individual who wishes to start a career in financial services.
We are a small firm of independent financial advisers based in Abercynon South Wales, specialising in investment and pension advice. We are a directly regulated by the UK financial services regulator, The Financial Conduct Authority and take pride in managing all technical aspects our business internally.
The role will working on a small team at our Abercynon offices providing technical and administrative support. Our training and development program is second to none and undertaking both an apprenticeship and professional qualifications will be a key requirement.
Chances are you will be involved in interesting and ‘off the wall' project, everything from design, analysis and marketing to being part of our 2022 ‘Bog Snorkelling Team'.
The role is intended to be progressive. Anyone joining Leabold, no matter what level, is expected to strive towards becoming a senior manager within the business, and we've plenty of success in this regard. We are a forward looking business and seek actively to promote those who achieve.
The role is full time, 35 hours per week with a starting salary of £8,800+, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include, 20 days annual leave, employer pension contributions and 3x salary death in service cover.



We are very much a firm who values creativity, drive, and imagination. Excel geeks and VBA wizards are especially welcome, as is anyone who can code. Likewise, an ability to design amazing documents, construct detailed technical statements or compose elegant reports. Most important to us is attitude. We are a close knit team who value each other as people as much for our skills and abilities. The ability to cooperate and compromise with others will be key.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
