Job summary

Are you looking to establish and progress your career within the NHS?

If so an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprenticeship Administrator role at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust based at Wythenshawe Hospital. This role is based in the Medical Engineering Department providing administrative support to a team of Administrators and an Office Manager/Departmental Management team. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 37.5hrs .

The post holder will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team, with excellent communication, administrative, and organisational skills. The candidate will need to be flexible with the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.

You will be fully supported to complete your level 3 business and administration apprenticeship qualification, and will have the opportunity to apply for a band 3 role permanently in the team once you have successfully completed your training.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the control of all clerical related stock and non-stock (non-technical) items within the Department.

Assist with the control of stock level, stock valuation, minimisation of waste, stock room organisation and layout.

Assist with instigating and processing, in accordance with standing financial instructions, all necessary documentation and processes for the purchase of stock and non-stock items ensuring best value for money is obtained.

Responsible for processing, in accordance with standing financial instructions, orders for technical items as prepared by the department's technical staff .

Liaise with appropriate external companies regarding the progress of all ordered items, ensuring that records of progress are kept up to date.

Responsible for co-coordinating the receipt of all goods inwards to include processing necessary documentation and checking that the non-technical goods received are in perfect condition.

  • Working towards NVQ level 3 in business administration as part of apprenticeship.
  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications.


Experience

  • Experience of working in a service support environment, undertaking a range of administrative and customer related tasks.
