Job summary

Humber Teaching NHS Trust are looking to recruit a Band 2 Administration Assistantin the Scarborough and Ryedale Customer Access Service. As a Trust, we see the value in supporting the development and progression of our people through apprenticeship pathways, combining vocational learning with on-the-job experience.

BASE: Scarborough/Ryedale/Whitby/Pocklington/Home working.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will work within the CAS providing Administration support to our services often as a first point of contact for patients, supporting the on-going delivery of their care. You must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, be a good listener, reliable, efficient and be able to work calmly under pressure in a busy team. Knowledge and experience of patient administrative systems including SystmOne is desirable, however training will be available. You must be confident prioritising your workload, comfortable working as part of a team and be able to work considerately and proactively with all colleagues. You should also possess good keyboard skills.

Person Specification



  • 2 GCSE/O levels in English and Maths
  • Standard Keyboard skills


  • 3 or more GCSE/O levelsin English or Maths
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent



  • Knowledge of office procedures, clerical or reception work



  • Customer services experience
  • Knowledge of IT systems
