Job summary
The post holder will carry out Workshop cleaning duties within The Fleet Workshop at Alfreton Resource Centre, ensuring appropriate cleanliness, and engineering hygiene across the workshop and working to Infection Prevention Control Measures completing daily cleaning and completing cleaning document records and maintaining the safety of the working environment. There will also be some driving duties required so a C1 driving entitlement is essential.
Main duties of the job
The East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides Emergency, Urgent and Non-Emergency pre-hospital care and transport across six counties (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Rutland and Northamptonshire). We have over 70 locations and 800 vehicles, a range of specialist medical devices and 3100 staff supported by 1800 volunteers.

Job responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
Vehicles a) Exterior of each vehicle in Workshops i) Wash daily, or as required. ii) Thoroughly clean on a rotating basis including beacons, two tone horns, lights and windows, etc. b) Interior of each Vehicle in Workshops
Deep clean each vehicle as directed:
i) Remove all equipment from ambulance. ii) Sweep and mop out interior of vehicle, including cab area. Clean windscreens and windows internally.
iii) Replace all equipment in vehicle.
c) Driving Duties i) Drive, manoeuvre and garage each vehicle on the Station premises as required. When instructed by the General Manager, may be required to drive a vehicle on the public highway to meet Service operational requirements.
d) Accidents to Vehicles
Report all vehicles accidents or accidents to property, Station or other, or persons, incurred whilst carrying out the duties of the post, to the Operations Manager and complete appropriate accident report form.
General Duties
i) Sweep, clean and make safe garage floor to comply with Health and Safety legislation.
Workshop Cleaning a) Workshop Cleaning Schedule
The work methods and frequencies of cleaning are set out in the Workshop Cleaning Schedule and must be strictly adhered to.
b) Equipment
Ensure proper and effective use and cleanliness of cleaning equipment and materials.
Petrol Issues Responsible where appropriate for the filling-up of Ambulance Service vehicles in Workshops. ii) Responsible for the correct recording, on the petrol issue sheet and where appropriate, in the vehicle log book, of petrol Equipment
Ensure proper and effective use and cleanliness of cleaning equipment and materials.
Training
Undertake, as required, training appropriate to the duties of the post.
Health and Safety
Ensure that health and safety requirements associated with the duties of the post are strictly adhered to.
Fire Precautions
Comply with fire precaution requirements and fire precaution drills associated with each aspect of the duties of the post.
Other Duties
Undertake other similar duties as may be allocated by the General Manager
The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures and practices of the Trust, which may be amended from time to time.
Patient Safety is a key priority for the Trust. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fully compliant with EMAS policies and procedures in respect of patient safety, for example Risk Management, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
