Duration of Apprenticeship:

15 months

Job Description:

This is largely a home based role however you will be assigned to the closest BPP centre to your home (Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Holborn or Waterloo)

The role will include but is not limited to:


  • Assisting with the management of the staff holiday, unpaid leave and TOIL records
  • Assisting with staff sickness procedures and ensuring that the relevant processes are complied with
  • Working with the Heads of Faculty to identify accurate information which will assist them to line manage their reports effectively
  • Working with the Heads of Faculty to recruit and manage the freelance tutors and assist with freelance administration, including completion and follow-up of freelancer engagement forms and IT request forms and renew freelancer contracts as required
  • Testing IT accounts for new starters and freelancers
  • Assisting with HR documentation as required from time to time
  • Building knowledge of resource planning processes, procedures and databases and assisting with their development
  • Assisting with class cover for tutors who are ill or otherwise unavailable
  • Working with the Programme Support team to ensure efficient communication to students and faculty regarding class/tutor changes
  • Updating of resourcing spreadsheets and databases
  • Providing share point links for materials for freelance tutors
  • Updating email groups for leavers and starters
  • Work with the timetabling team to schedule teaching and related activity
  • Assisting with any ad hoc tasks within the resource planning team

Training Provided:

As a Business Administration Apprentice with BPP, you will undertake the Business Administrator Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures and workplace support.

Qualification Requirements:

  • GCSE English, Maths & ICT at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • 2 A Levels at grade C or above (or equivalent)

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Administration and organisational skills
  • Some experience of using databases
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, including Excel, conference /web software)
  • Experience of managing different stakeholders
  • Some experience of producing and managing documents
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Some experience of building relationships with people
  • Some experience of managing people (desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good team worker
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to prioritise and multi-task when necessary
  • Flexible approach to working in a collaborative environment
  • Enthusiastic and people-focused
  • An advocate for BPP values (Student-centric, Ownership and accountability, Team orientation)


Future Prospects:

This is a permanent position and on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme or aim is to promote the apprentices to a full resource planning role either within the Law School or in another BPP school. In addition, there are other internal opportunities that the successful apprentice is able to apply for.
