Based in Milton Keynes you will be working in Production Control, a small team of 6 who play a vital role in the production process at SMC. The team work closely with our skilled production colleagues who make and
assemble parts for our customers. The coordination of our stock and materials involves organization, planning and will also enable you to develop project management skills.
You will spend 1 day per week at Milton Keynes College undertaking your studies and will be work based the rest of the time.
At work you will undertake a largely administrative role which will include supporting the management and maintenance of data and the scheduling and planning of resources and materials with production colleagues.
Production Control is a very important specialist team within our business who ensure everything is where it should be, when it should be, which is key to ensuring our customers enjoy a smooth and exceptional service.
You will be organised with the ability to manage your own time and workload. With good attention to detail and efficiency skills, you’ll be at home in a collaborative working environment and tick that ‘team player’ box.
You value the importance of good customer service. With good communication skills (written and verbal), you’ll
also be adaptable and keen to develop your own and team performance. Oh, and good timekeeping is a must!
GCSE English and Maths – successful applicants without these qualifications will be supported to complete these qualifications by SMC and Milton Keynes College - prior to End-Point Assessment.

• Duration: 18 months excluding end point assessment
SMC champion employee development and following successful completion of your level 3, would be happy to support you on to a level 4 qualification to continue your development with a plan to successfully move into a Production Planner role.
