What will the apprentice be doing?
Apprentice Electrical Mechanical engineer Overview
In this role you will:
Ensure strict compliance and work within the confines of the company H+S policies.
Work under the supervision of a suitably qualified Engineer.
Assist with conducting planned preventative maintenance routines, resolving, or effectively reporting any defects discovered.
Provide key support for mentor engineer and customer operatives.
Work alongside the Maintenance Engineers to keep equipment downtime to a minimum through reactive breakdown intervention.
Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives across sites.
Follow and assist in developing SOPs, RAMs and 5s practices and procedures.
Attend college each week and complete all assignments as expected and required by the course.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Principle education provided HNC (level 4) in electrical and mechanical engineering depending on current education.
As an apprentice you will learn and obtain experience in the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering. primarily through on the job training and part time study at Vision West Nottinghamshire or other educational establishment as deemed appropriate by JWC Engineering.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship you will be taught, and will put into practice, engineering skills which will be key for a Maintenance Engineer role. Your apprenticeship will last for a minimum of 2 years, during which time you will rotate around the different functions in engineering and maintenance.
Hourly rate on completion of apprenticeship £18.50. (starting)
2 year retainer after completion of college.
Further education in subject or tangent skills (eg paid for HND)

Experience required, time served Level 3 apprenticeship required in electrical and or mechanical engineering. Minimum 3 years practical experience in trained discipline.
